ABOUT THIS WATCH
Formex Swiss Made watches are made to fit any gender, and with the 39mm case size, they are now wearable and comfortable on any wrist. Formex’s latest addition is not shrunken, bedazzled and quartzified for the ladies. It’s the exact same watch with a new dial material that is as resilient as it sounds – Mother-of-Pearl. The Essence, designed as a practical mechanical wrist watch for the everyday use now receives that extra bit of elegant flair from the mesmerizing MoP dial.
Movement
The Essence ThirtyNine is powered by Sellita’s highest quality grade SW200-1 Swiss Made Automatic movement, beautifully decorated and wound by Formex’s custom skeletonized rotor. Each one of these movements is certified by the COSC and undergoes the meticulous 15-day rate test to ensure extraordinary levels of mechanical accuracy and precision.
Dial
The dial is made of a whole piece of the inner shell layer of a Pinctada maxima shell also called the silver-lipped oyster, that can grow to a diameter of up to 30 cm. While MoP does have a reputation for fragility, in fact it’s one of the strongest forms of armor that nature has come up with, and it’s also the same material of which pearls are composed. The result is a beautiful, glistening, iridescent and pearlescent white appearance that is concealed in the dark but fully unfolds when light hits the dial.
Straps and Clasps
For a perfect fit and more comfort on the wrist at all times, we’re using the new Formex Deployant clasp with a gradual fine-adjustment system for the leather straps. The stainless steel bracelet, which reflects the same flawless finishing of the Essence’s case, has a hidden Micro-Extension. All straps and the steel bracelet can be changed without the use of any tools and in just a few seconds.

All Essence straps and the bracelet can be changed by hand without the use of tools. The carbon fiber composite folding clasp with patented fine adjustment system can be changed without tools and can be used for all Essence ThirtyNine leather straps.

SUSPENSION SYSTEM
Since the beginning of Formex in 1999, the patented Case Suspension System has been an integral part of every single Formex timepiece. Its two main functions are:

FINE-ADJUSTMENT DEPLOYANT CARBON CLASP
Your strap comes on our new deployant clasp with a patented fine-adjustment. More intuitive to operate, the new version is fully made out of our proprietary carbon fiber composite. The micro-adjustment is now even easier to use and can be operated while the watch is on your wrist. Lightweight, smooth to the touch, ultra-durable and highly functional, this clasp is a real piece of engineering, making your Watch even more comfortable to wear.
